Rome (8/11/09-8/13/09)

I conquered Rome in a day.
The day after I drove to Atlanta from Charleston, flew from Atlanta to London and London to Rome.
I found my hotel, which was just four rooms run by southern Italians who were very hospitable.
So, the morning after I arrived, we started off to see the entire city, because I only had one full day in Rome.  We saw (just to name a few) la Fontana di Trevi, Fontana del Tritone, la Repubblica, Villa Medici, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, il Vaticano, Basilica San Pietro, L'Arco di Constantino, and of course il Colosseo.  Everything was so amazing and of course I just read Angels and Demons so the plot of that book was running through my head the entire time, plotting out the course of Robert Langdon...I'm a nerd.
The top picture is of the monument to king Vittorio Emanuele II (the last king of Italy).  The one after is the view from the Villa of the Medici family.  You can see all of Rome from the property and it's beautiful.  Under that is St. Peter's...  we didn't go inside because the line was literally wrapped around the walls of the Vatican.
The picture of all the signs is just to give you a visual..because I saw every one of those...
and under that is the Trevi fountain.  It's beautiful..just like the rest of Rome.  I really enjoyed seeing the city, it's got a lot to offer and really good food too.
